The low-cost airline is growing once more, introducing nonstop service from the Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut to Daytona Beach and Melbourne, Florida.

As of June 21, 2023, Avelo will begin operating Wednesday and Saturday flights to Melbourne Orlando International Airport, and on June 22, 2023, it will start operating Thursday and Sunday flights to Daytona Beach International Airport.

The introductory fares start from $49 one way but must be purchased by April 15 for travel by September 6, 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome Avelo, our airport’s first ultra-low-cost carrier, to Daytona Beach & Volusia County,” said Karen Feaster, Airport Director at Daytona Beach International Airport, in a statement. “This service opens our area to a market of travelers who now are only a direct flight away from our beautiful beaches, miles of nature trails and endless opportunities for fun and sun. Plus, our community now has direct flight options to one of our more popular travel regions.”

After only two years in business, Avelo currently flies to and from 34 destinations and operates 15 different 737 aircraft.  Avelo co-founder and CEO Andrew Levy, an industry veteran who was chief financial officer at United Airlines and president of Allegiant Travel Company, portrays Avelo as small but mighty.
