The finest place in the United States to celebrate Easter in 2023 is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to new research, this is the case when the 100 largest cities in the U.S. are compared based on a dozen essential elements that make for the perfect Easter celebration, such as metrics like candy and chocolate stores per capita, parkland acres, anticipated precipitation, and the percentage of Christians living there, among others.
Pittsburgh ranks fourth nationally for Easter Observers and third for Easter Traditions, with a total WalletHub score of 56.06. The first category, which accounts for 50 of a potential 100 points, takes into account the proportion of Christians and the number of churches per capita.
In contrast, Easter Traditions accounts for 30 of the possible 100 points and considers factors such as the volume of “Easter Celebration” searches on Google, meal costs, brunch establishments, flower and gift shops, and candy and chocolate stores per capita, as well as the proportion of locals aged 5 and older who have received their full COVID-19 vaccination.
El Paso, Texas also rose five spots to place third, barely ahead of New Orleans and Birmingham, Alabama. Buffalo, New York rose five points from previous year to place second overall and second for Easter Observers.
This year, Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and St. Louis also made the top 10. The top cities in the nation for Easter customs are Miami, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Honolulu, and Denver.
Anchorage, Alaska, placed first for Kids’ Easter, which is worth merely 10 out of a potential 100 points and takes into account the proportion of children aged 9 and younger and acres of parkland per capita, despite coming in 92nd overall out of 100 cities. The top five U.S. cities for an Easter celebration for youngsters this year are Laredo, Texas; Honolulu; San Bernardino, California; and Chesapeake, Virginia.
